“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” ~ Lao-Tzu
This year has been so eventful, productive and enjoyable for me. As we come to the end of 2016, I take the opportunity to pen down my 2016 journey.
2016 is the special year during which I chose to convert my passion into action, by creating my blog Methodical Musings. The blog by which I got an identity for myself, the blog which helped me voice out my opinions and thoughts, the blog which made me confident, bold and more outgoing.
As I mentioned in my post Supermom and Her Super Powers, I am an introvert. Starting conversations was never my cup of tea. Here I am, at the end of this year, standing tall and talking freely. And I know it is because of “Methodical Musings.”
I had no idea that I would receive so much love from my readers, when I had started blogging. The response I got was overwhelming. I remember a couple of beautiful responses (permission asked from the responders):
- “You have turned from a shy and reserved person to a girl who’s so passionate and inspiring. And honestly, I’m really inspired.”
- “I would want to learn to write like you.”
The latter one was told by a person whom I myself admire for his writing. And there can be nothing more that can make me feel that I’m worth it; that this blog is worth it.
Honestly, this transition wasn’t easy. I was playing around the idea of being a blogger since quite a long time. And one fine day in May 2016, I made up my mind that this has to happen. And an hour later, there it was. Something that I can call my creation. My blog.
I’m glad I did. I had absolutely no idea what I’d write in there. This is when I started observing people and events that happen around me. My post Learning: Age No Bar happened this way.
Now, 8 months later, I feel proud to call myself a blogger. Still learning the nuances and still finding inspiration. All I can say is that I’ve improved not just as a writer, but as a person. And that’s what makes this year worthwhile.
A big thank you to all my readers who have read each of my blog posts with so much of interest and messaged me/commented on the blog giving me their lovely opinions and views. A bigger thank you to my brother, my editor since the first time I started putting my words into ink, for always being there to pat my back when I write well, and for being a strong critic when my work is not up to the mark.
So readers, this is me, signing off as an improved version of myself, both as a person and as a writer. Hope to write more blog posts than I have this year with better and more interesting content for you to read.
Happy new year 2017 to all!
Keep up the good work
