Another year has swiftly passed by and here we are, at the end of 2022.
With the new year knocking on the door, billions of people are thinking of their new year’s resolutions. Most common resolutions involve starting something new, like eating better, exercising, or reading more. There are also resolutions revolving breaking bad habits.
While it is absolutely amazing to start off on a new journey and build good habits, don’t you think we are accustomed to adding to our lives than purging or getting rid of what does not benefit us?
No, I do not mean decluttering your wardrobe or cleaning your house. What I mean here is decluttering our life on the whole.
For the upcoming year, why don’t we actively try to stop rather than start something?
- Stop trying to please everyone.
- Stop being apologetic for needing your own space.
- Stop indulging in activities that do not bring you joy, regardless of how enjoyable it is for others.
- Stop gossiping about people.
- Stop judging your own efforts.
- Stop belittling emotions.
- Stop allowing others to take you for granted.
- Stop being nice to people who are not nice to you.
- Stop letting people step over your boundaries.
- Stop stepping over other people’s boundaries, too.
- Stop burning yourself out.
- Stop taking the people who truly love you for granted.
- Stop blaming others for things that are not under anybody’s control.
- Stop trying to help people who do not value it.
- Stop trying to make everything look perfect.
- Stop criticising how you look.
- Stop comparing someone’s life to yours.
- Stop eating food which does not make you feel good from within.
- Stop taking your health for granted.
- Stop expecting things from yourself and from others.
- Stop suppressing your emotions.
- Stop procrastinating.
- Stop being ungrateful for what you have.
To cut a long story short: Instead of “adding” more to your life, “minus” actions and behaviours that are not serving you.

What are you going to stop doing the next year onwards?
See you in 2023, with more blog posts and a lot more love and laughter!
Happy New Year to you, dear reader. Thank you for taking the time to read whatever I wrote this year. It truly means a lot to me!

Excellent.
Best way to start a new resolution. We get to learn from our own mistakes a lot and get more to learn from others too.
We usually think adding a good habit makes life better but stopping some habits also makes life easier and better.

Chetu, this post came to very close to my heart since there are so many things which I myself have to ‘minus’ just to get a feeling of satisfaction. But most of the time becomes very difficult to ‘minus’ it, because it makes near and dear ones happy.
