Consume and Create.

Hello there, lovely readers! 🙂
This blog post is a special one. Read on to know why.
I often get asked this question: “From where do you get ideas for your blog posts?” Initially, I brushed it off, but then I actually wondered. How do I get the ideas?
Well, I observe. Yes, simply observe. There is so much in this world that can be learnt and understood just by observing. For me, observation is the biggest form of learning.
Starting this blog has made me realise how important it is for us to take note of what’s happening around us. I had to force myself to keep my eyes and ears open, especially in the initial days of blogging. That’s how I would find potential blog posts. 🙂
Of course, there are times when I am on a writer’s block. There are times when I am determined to draft a blog post but cannot go beyond even a sentence. Running out of ideas is something I fear. Which is why I have created a list of sorts on my beloved digital notebook. A list of ideas for future blog posts. Sometimes, ideas strike my mind in the most unusual situations. I will be falling asleep. Or will be at the grocery store. At such times, I open up the notebook app and enter the idea immediately, before it goes off my mind.

I have always wanted to become a writer. This blog has changed my life for good. When I started off, it was a shy, unsure, under-confident person behind these blog posts. But with each passing blog post, I have only grown. My observation skills have improved tremendously. I have learnt to pay attention and remain alert. You never know, one of our conversations could lead to a future blog post on The Soulful Nib! 😉
To be honest, I never even thought that this blog will come this far. It all started on a whim. I fancied being a blogger ever since I started reading my favourite author’s blog. After playing with the idea for long, I took the decision and created this blog. Yes, it isn’t reaching masses. But it makes me feel happy. It is my creation.
You must be wondering why am I giving such a sappy and emotional speech about this blog. Well, that’s because today is a double celebration day for The Soulful Nib!
The blog is THREE years old today! What’s more? The blog post you are reading currently is the FIFTIETH blog post on The Soulful Nib!!
I have been waiting for this moment ever since the beginning of 2019. This feels surreal.
Not kidding. But this would not have been possible without the support and encouragement from you, my dear readers.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all those morale-boosting words. They mean THE WORLD to me.
All right. This post is getting a bit too emotional. 😄
Until next time, stay blessed!
