The Bespectacled Girl loves going to the gym.
Unsurprisingly, she has a spreadsheet complete with her workout splits for every day of the week.
The precision with which it has been designed does not let a single muscle group be ignored.
Even if they want to be ignored.
She follows this with remarkable dedication.
And when she sometimes misses a workout because she is travelling or unwell, she does not handle it well.
Normal people just shrug, rearrange their schedule, and move on.
But she behaves as though the next time she walks into the gym after taking a break, every dumbbell would stand in her way and glare at her in utter disappointment.
Whenever boredom strikes, she has only two self-approved options for dealing with it.
Either go to the stationery shop or to the sportswear store.
In fact, she visits her favourite sportswear store so often that all the staff, including the security guard, know her by her name, and she knows them by theirs.
There is a running joke that she should probably add the address of this store as her secondary residential address.
Maybe.
She always walks in because she is “just looking.”
Thirty minutes later, she walks out lugging two bags behind her, her bank account lighter by ₹10,000, and her excitement peaking because she now has three new outfit combinations for the gym.
She owns athletic wear in nearly every colour imaginable.
And when someone points out that three of her T-shirts are exactly the same shade, she proceeds to describe how they are, in fact, completely different.
She accepts that they may look identical to everyone else.
Hmph.
Not her problem.
Soon, her shopaholic tendencies reached a rather concerning limit. Because, well, she had to buy a brand-new cupboard.
Not because there isn’t space in the existing one. But because her athletic wear collection is ever-growing.
To most people, warming up before workouts means doing some stretches.
To the Bespectacled Girl, warm-ups begin much earlier, when she sits down to plan her gym outfits meticulously inside her productivity app.
Every workout is carefully matched with a specific T-shirt, leggings and shoes (and a scrunchie too).
She owns enough water bottles to hydrate a small village.
And yet, she spots another one.
This one has motivational markings.
9 AM: Rise and shine, good morning!
11 AM: You can do this!
1 PM: Keep up the energy!
By 2 PM, she would actually prefer to not have any energy and just curl up and sleep.
She buys the bottle anyway.

Anyone questioning her shopping habits receives the same explanation.
“It’s not spending. It’s an investment towards my health, fitness, and well-being.”
Tomorrow, she will probably walk into the same sportswear store again.
For the nth time.
Just to look.
The sportswear store knows better.
